“Let not your heart be troubled…”.
We are prone to trouble. If there is none to be had, we will begin to think some up on our own. Why do we find it easier to think that calamity is coming to us more than blessings? The human mind works in a way that is altogether different than how God’s mind works. We think danger, He thinks protection. We think fear, He thinks peace. We think dark, He thinks light. When Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled…” He said it in the context of the coming rapture when He will take the church with Him to heaven. Shouldn’t we then live our lives without fear, and rather be excited and full of anticipation about His near return for us? Certainly, the answer is yes. Then why are we still troubled? It is because we foolishly allow ourselves to be troubled even though we’re no longer in trouble. Christian, you have been forgiven and washed clean by the blood of Christ. You have nothing to be troubled about anymore. What you’re troubled about today shouldn’t be troubling you at all. The Lord God, the Almighty, knows exactly what is going on and what is about to come because He has arranged it. Trust in Him and let not your heart be troubled.
